Here we have a 1956 Buick Special That has been professionally built to look like a Gasser from the 60's. It started with a very nice original paint, rust free, Arizona car. It was built for my wife to use as a daily driver. She has driven it (weather permitting) for a little over 2 years with no problems. It is a fun car that attracts a lot of attention. The fact that we have no more inside storage is leading us to sell the car. I can't just let a rust free car sit outside.Everything mechanical was either professionally re-built or replaced. I used a 1979 El Camino with 56,000 original miles for a donor car. I used the 350 Chevy Motor, the 350 Turbo, automatic transmission and the 10 bolt rear out of it.The rear is mounted to the Buick coil overs with Lakewood ladder bars and new air shocks and a drive shaft safety loop. It has a straight axle and, disc brakes and a power booster from Speedway. I put all new brake parts on the rear. All the brake lines, proportioning valve and check valves are new. The gas tank was cleaned and new steel lines were installed along with a Holley "Red" fuel pump, big Fram filter, Holley fuel pressure regulator and cowl mounted fuel pressure gauge. The aluminum tank on the front is not functional. It's just for that look. It has a new Holley 600 vacuum secondary carb. on an aluminum intake. It has a custom made aluminum radiator to fit the Chevy motor with an electric fan that works off of a relay in the new Painless wiring harness that was used to replace the original Buick harness. It has a Southern Rods Heat and air unit. Heat works great. I never charged the air. It should work fine after charging. Period correct fender well headers go to a custom block off plate and custom made exhaust with Cherry Bomb mufflers. They sound good without being too loud. New Moon tach and under dash 3 gauge set, amp, oil and volts. All work. There is a new electric wiper motor conversion in it. There are Mickey Thompson mag wheels on the front and rear along with skinny Firestone's on the front and re production Pro Track 60's on the back. They fit nice and do not rub. A nice vintage sticker collection is on the factory tinted glass. It has factory tinted glass, because it was originally a factory air conditioned car. Inside I installed a new headliner, Recovered the dash and door panels. Installed new carpeting in the front and where the rear seat use to be. It has 2 black '65-6 Mustang bucket seats. Lokar shifter. A new battery is in the trunk, housed in a plastic battery box, vented outside the car. There is a full size spare tire in it as well as a new hydraulic jack. I will also include a box of roadside assorted tools and spares, just in case of emergency. There is no radio installed in the car, but I will include a new in the box Pyle am/fm/cd marine radio that I was going to install in the trunk and run the wired remote under the carpeting, up under the seats. So you couldn't see the new radio in the old car. There is also 2 new Pyle driver speakers to go with the radio. We hate to get rid of the car, but she has to go. It is a nice car that you can get in and drive to a show or your favorite cruise spot and be confident that there will be no one else there with a '56 Buick Gasser. The lettering should be able to be removed by a good body and paint guy with little or no traces. We would tell people that it was my wife's mothers old drag car that was out in the barn. We cleaned it up so we could drive it around. It made for some fun conversations at shows and the Wal Mart parking lot.All the receipts and manuals that came with the parts I installed will be included with the car. The car is being sold "AS IS" NO exchanges, returns or warranties. Buyer is responsible for picking the car up or having it shipped. Feel free to ask any questions. I will be happy to help in any way that I can. I (Don) can be reached at 570 663 2105 9-5 est if you would like to make arrangements to come see the car before hand or ask any questions.I'm sure I forgot some of the new parts that I put on the car. I tried to describe everything the best that I could. The reserve is a lot less than the cost of the car and the parts I have in it. Let alone the years worth of time that it took to build it. We just want someone to give it a good home. Happy Bidding.
