Ford 2.3 2300 Mustang Ranger Pinto Exhaust Tube Header

You are bidding on a used but in great shape Ford Exhaust tube header. This is a factory original part from Ford, found on Rangers from 1993 to 1994 that will work on the overhead cam 4 cylinder engines typically found in cars such as the '74 and up Pinto, Mustang, Ranger, T-Bird. Also the Mazda trucks in the 90's that came with the 2.3. The engines also are referred to as Lima engines, 2.0, 2.3, 2000 or 2300.

This will also work on the newer Ranger's with the 2.5 overhead cam engine.

This is a great upgrade for the heavy and restricted cast manifold's normally found on these engines. This is the manifold you need for the Fox Body Mustang– as some tube headers do not have the O2 sensor hole in them.

You will loose a lot of weight off the front end just by changing to it - it's about 20 lbs. lighter than the cast manifold.

Also, this is a factory OEM piece, made from industrial grade stainless steel - it won't rust out in a year or twolike cheap aftermarket ones do.

I have two Mustangs, a 1993 and a 1988, and this is a bolt in application on both - the 1993 has the 8 plug head and the 88 has the 4 plug head- it will mount up to the original exhaust tube with no modification needed or moving of the exhaust pipe.It took me about an hour to swap it out. It really woke up the power level in both engines. This also will hold true for the '80's up to 1992 Ford Ranger, as they used the same castiron manifold.

This manifold was cleaned and painted with the high temp aluminum paint. This manifold has both the O2 sensor bung and a fitting for the EGR. The threads on both are in great shape. If swapping into a Mustang, you will need to modify the EGR tube a little to get it to work. I personally capped of my EGR tube at the intake and at the manifold- really helped the engine run smoother. I simply cut the tube in half and hammered the pipe flat at the end (like a toothpaste container) and used a vise to fold it over and hammered it tight for a seal. Both fittings are there and can be utilized for your application or just plugged up if not needed.

Also included is all the original bolts – including the flange bolts. They are in excellent condition. When I did my 1st swap on mine – I didn’t have the bolts and I had to remove the studs from the cast manifold, which took some effort. Trying to find these bolts is a pain at Home Depot - they are a non-stocked metric size.

All you need to get is an engine to manifold gasket – they are about 5 bucks at a parts store.

Also included is the EGR nut andall of the original tubing. You can use this to plug it up or modify the EGR tube to work.

This is the most complete kit you will find on E-bay!

I removed the hot air duct that is riveted to the front two tubes. This is the part that attaches to a hose and the air filter for warm air on cold starts. It is not pictured butcan be include with the pieces. Ican re-attachit or leave them loose. Just let me know if you wantit or not. I left mine off, as the rivets usually work loose in time and you get an annoying rattle.

This is a nice cheap way to dramaticallyimprove your 2.3 's power level with just about a few hours work.

I also heard that a lot of mini stock guys use this as the manifold of choice for their race cars. It has the Ford stamp on the #3 flange along with the part number.

Good luck and I'll ship within 24 hours of cleared payment to anywhere in the U.S.A. If you live in South Florida and are the successful bidder and would like to pick it up in person, I’d wave the shipping costs.

I can also include a 12" section of exhaust pipe with the flange and flange clamp so you can weld in your own exhaust - just be sure to tell me you need the pipe - I can send a section with or without an O2 bung.
